Empowering Seniors with Technology at the Shepherd's Center of Charlotte

From April 8th to May 13th, 2024, the Shepherd's Center of Charlotte partnered with Power Up USA to offer a dynamic and engaging six-week course designed to empower seniors with the latest technological skills. The course was met with enthusiasm as participants learned valuable tools to enhance their digital literacy and confidence in navigating the ever-evolving online world.

Navigating Websites with Ease

The course kicked off by teaching seniors how to navigate websites with confidence. Participants learned essential skills such as browsing the internet safely, understanding search engines, and finding credible information online. This foundational knowledge opened the door to a world of online resources, making it easier for seniors to stay connected with accessing the news, and explore their interests.

Optimizing Phone Storage with Google Drive

One of the most practical sessions focused on optimizing phone storage using Google Drive. Participants discovered how to free up space on their devices by securely storing photos, documents, and other important files in the cloud. This lesson not only extended the lifespan of their devices but also ensured that cherished memories were safely backed up and easily accessible.

Mastering Google Apps
