Mission of Power Up USA and the Center for Digital Churches Refurbishing Program
The mission of the joint refurbishing program by Power Up USA and the Center for Digital Churches is to bridge the digital divide by providing access to technology for underserved communities and faith-based organizations. By refurbishing and distributing donated electronic devices, the program aims to empower individuals, churches, and organizations with the digital tools necessary to close the digital divide.
Environmental Benefits of the Innovation Barn Location
Power Up USA's refurbishing program is located in the Innovation Barn, a hub for sustainability and innovation located at 932 Seigle Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205.
Want to Donate?
Accepted Items:
Smartphones (iPhone, Android, etc.) Tablets, Laptops and Desktops Monitors, keyboards, and Mice.
Condition Requirements:
Devices should be in working condition. Devices with significant physical damage, missing parts ( except hard drives) or water damage may will not be accepted.
Data Privacy:
Ensure all personal accounts are logged out (e.g., iCloud, Google). Power Up USA and the Center for Digital Churches are not responsible for personal data left on devices.
If needed, Power Up USA will provide secured data erasure services on all donated devices
Scheduled Donation Drop-Off:
Donations can be dropped off at our location: 2300 Alleghany Street, Charlotte, NC 28208. Drop-off hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Corporate Donations:
Businesses can donate in bulk by contacting our team to schedule a pick-up. A donation receipt for tax purposes can be provided upon request.
Unaccepted Items:
Printers and fax machines
CRT monitors or televisions
Devices with hazardous materials
How Donations are Used:
Donated devices are refurbished and distributed to underserved communities through Power Up USA or the Center for Digital Churches.
Proceeds from refurbished device sales support digital equity programs.
You can donate In-person at one of our physical locations. All donations must be scheduled.
Physical Donation Centers:
CLT Creative Workspace: Tuesdays 11am to 3pm (1 to 30 devices)
2300 Alleghany Street, Charlotte NC 28208
Innovation Barn: Fridays 11am to 2pm (1 to 200 devices or more)
932 Seigle Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205.
