The Power Up USA STEAM Scavenger Hunt is an interactive and educational program designed to engage youth in exploring the world around them through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Participants will work in groups of four, using a tablet or cell phone to capture photos and videos of nature, people, and animals based on specific challenges and themes.
Goals:
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration among participants.
- Foster a sense of curiosity and exploration in STEAM fields.
- Promote outdoor activity and appreciation for nature.
- Provide hands-on learning experiences through technology.
Themes and Challenges:
- Nature’s Beauty: Capture the most beautiful natural scene you can find.
- People in Action: Take a photo or video of someone engaged in a physical activity.
- Animal Kingdom: Capture a photo or video of an animal in its natural habitat.
- STEAM Wonders: Find something that represents each of the STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) and explain its significance.
- Creative Expression: Use your creativity to capture a unique and artistic photo or video related to STEAM.
Safety Guidelines:
- Participants must stay within designated boundaries.
- Respect wildlife and their habitats; do not disturb or harm animals.
- Stay in groups and follow adult supervision guidelines.
